About the Schools Program

The Stella Schools Program is holding daylong Girls Write Up events in Melbourne and Sydney in June. Find out more here.

The Stella Schools Program is for girls and boys in Years 7 to 12 and comprises:

➤ school visits by notable Australian writers, educators and publishers
➤ teaching units on gender and diversity that encourage students to critically engage with the books they read
➤ teaching and learning resources for all secondary-school levels
➤ professional development sessions for teachers and librarians
➤ hands-on writing workshops
➤ skills development and mentorship opportunities for young writers
➤ Girls Write Up: a daylong wordfest for teens (NSW & VIC) held in June 2016
➤ Stella Camp: Writing Equality – a week-long incursion in schools, coming late 2016
➤ a range of special in-school events such as gender and diversity panel discussions at school literary festivals, keynote addresses at whole-school assemblies and valedictory services, and ‘in-conversation’ events open to parents and students.

Let your students be inspired by Australian women’s writing, and help them—girls and boys alike—to build their own brilliant careers.
