Christie Nieman, Nevo Zisin, Sara Mansour and Laniyuk Garcon

Whose words decide who we are and how we should live? Can we resist, reimagine, reclaim words to take ownership of our stories and have a say in our future? Christie Nieman, Nevo Zisin, Sara Mansour and Laniyuk Garcon resist the dominant narratives, rebelliously reimagining a piece of writing from the literary canon and demonstrating that stories can change, depending on who’s telling them. 1:45 pm - 2:30 pm
Is the writer invisible, or does the body they write from within inform their writing?
1:45 pm – 2:30 pm
Brodie Lancaster, Clementine Ford and Claire Christian

Is the writer invisible, or does the body they write from within inform their writing? Is it possible to move through the world in a body without the world imprinting on it, without the dents left shaping the words the body writes? Why do we care so much about bodies? Brodie Lancaster, Clementine Ford and Claire Christian talk about the way that body image impacts their lives and writing.
