During this time participants will register for the day
Students are welcomed to Girls Write Up as we run through the day's events.
1. Spoken Word — Kirli Saunders
2. Slam Poetry — Lorin Elizabeth
3. Writing From Life — Winnie Dunn
4. Owning Your Story — Sarah Ayoub
5. — Randa Abdel-Fattah
Whose words decide who we are and how we should live? Can we resist, reimagine, reclaim words to take ownership of our stories and have a say in our future? Sarah Ayoub, Winnie Dunn and Kirli Saunders resist the dominant narratives, rebelliously reimaging a piece of writing from the literary canon and demonstrating that stories can change, depending on who’s telling them. Followed by a short, hosted discussion.
In this 30-minute session, two of our Girls Write Up speakers will answer some of the anonymous questions posted in the Ask Me Anything box over the course of the day. This is the chance for audience members to ask questions they’ve always wanted to ask, but never had the opportunity.
